Spreading Emily's Kindness

An extraordinary young girl whose driveway carnivals wove a tapestry of joy and friendship in her neighborhood, Emily believed that laughter and play could spark kindness in the world, a belief that still touches lives today.

To honor her spirit, Emily’s family created Emily's Kindness Scholarship, providing scholarships to high school seniors to inspire kindness and keep Emily’s light alive by celebrating Emily’s enduring legacy.

    The Emily Kindness Scholarship

What sets us apart is how we choose our recipients. Students apply not with grades or test scores, but through a personal essay sharing what kindness means to them. They may also choose to share a story of an act of kindness they’ve witnessed or performed. This approach reinforces empathy, reflection, and personal growth, while making higher education more accessible.

Unlike traditional scholarship programs that rely heavily on academic or athletic merit, Emily’s Carnival recognizes emotional intelligence, compassion, and human values. It not only provides financial support for higher education but also reinforces the social value of kindness as a strength to be celebrated and nurtured.

Emily’s Carnival is more than just a non-profit, it’s a movement, a message, and a mission to make the world a kinder, more connected place—one story and one student at a time.
